CORE PHILOSOPHY OF ASHRAMA

True to the ancient Sanatana Dharma of this holy land of India, the Ashram at its very core believes in promoting Dharma through the four Yogas -- Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Dhyana Yoga and last but not the least, Jnana Yoga. Not only amongst the monastic members who are a part of the Ashram but amongst all Sadhaks, devotees and members, the Ashram is very keen on championing these four Yogas. The Ashram intends to create an atmosphere of spirituality amongst all and more importantly, it envisions on becoming a centre where Sadhaks from all over the world can come and realize their True Self.

KARMA YOGA


Whether it is the Upanishads or the Sharanas of the 12th Century, Karma Yoga has always been given the utmost importance. Work is worship or Kayakave Kailasa (Heaven is in work), such statements can be found throughout the length and breadth of our country cutting across all kinds of spiritual tradition. With such a thought in mind, the Ashram has always made it a point to support promoted the lives and activities of the farmers, providing relief work at the time of difficulties, providing education and awareness programs for rural students, and encouraging general Seva (community work) at the Ashram for all those who are interested.

BHAKTI YOGA


Devotion towards Guru and the Lord has been ever-present in Ashram since the very beginning of its existence. Mangalaarti, Bhajans and other forms of worship are conducted on a daily basis at the Ashram. Occasions like Shivaratri, Navaratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, Full moon day etc. are all celebrated in a simple manner. Guru Poornima is an annual occasion, where lakhs of devotees come together and celebrate by showing their bhakti towards their Guru and the Lord. Lakhs of devotees sit together for Japa Yagna which is followed by spiritual discourses and bhajans.

DHYANA YOGA (OR RAJA YOGA)


This is considered to be the royal path among the four Yogas. All the monastic members of the Ashram are well versed in both Ashtanga Yoga and Hatha Yoga. The same is promoted among the Sadhaks and devotees as well by conducting Yoga sessions every day before sunrise. The Yoga, as taught by Patanjali, is regularly taught to the devotees and younger children through regular discourses, camps etc. Both Pujya Mallikarjuna Swamiji and Pujya Siddeshwar Swamiji have given elaborate discourses on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and have also written comprehensive commentary on it in Kannada and English. There is also a pictorial book written by Late. Pujya Sangam Devru Swamiji.

JNANA YOGA

Both the revered Swamijis, (Late) Pujya Mallikarjuna and Pujya Siddeshwara Swamiji, along with their disciples, have been keeping the cauldron of knowledge burning for more than 60 years now. By delivering more than 10,000 discourses all over the world and penning several books on Upanishads, Vachana & Sharana philosophy, Yoga, and general spirituality, they have dedicated their entire lives in spreading the knowledge to all regardless of gender, class, religion, caste etc. In continuation of this tradition, the discourses or the Pravachans continue to this day and at the same time, more number of books are on the way for the benefit of Sadhaks, devotees and alike.
